Mithril armour is the rarest and most durable armour in the mod. It is crafted with mithril mail, which in turn is made from mithril ingots. It provides 20 armour points (the same as the vanilla minecraft diamond armour) but has much more durability. The armour cannot receive modifiers to increase regular protection such as tough or steadfast. It can, however, receive projectile, fire, and falling protection modifiers in addition to all the other armour modifiers.
Originally, this armour was crafted and reforged with ingots, but this was changed in Update 34 to use mail, which halves the cost of making the armour.
In the renewed version, mithril armour has the same 'toughness' attributes as netherite armour.
