Nettles are common plants found, usually in small groups, throughout the lands Middle-earth in any biome that supports grasses. They are one of the most annoying plants, because of the damage they cause.
Damage[]
In contrary to the harmless fern, which looks much alike, nettles cause damage, when the player walks through. They will hear the damage sound, much like running through thistles and (without any armour) recieve a quarter of a damage point. Being eight times pricked by nettles, causes 2 (
) damage, and eighty pricks can theoretically kill a fully healed player.
If at (nearly) full health, this damage will be healed quite quickly, so you probably wouldn't notice it, but if you walk through a larger group of nettles, or keep standing on one, healing is slower than pricking. Finally you will read this death message: "Person was pricked to death."
Wearing armour will protect against nettles. For that you need both boots and leggings of any type. Nettles don't grow high enough to reach the other body parts. Armour will never take damage from nettles.
Uses[]
Nettles do not have a purpose in crafting. They can be used as low-level defence against enemy players around a player's base.
