Northern Mirkwood is a forested biome, above Mirkwood Corrupted and surrounding the Woodland Realm. It, unlike its southern counterpart, is uncorrupted, and the forest is much less thick. No elves or structures spawn here, only vanilla animals and Mirkwood spiders during night.

History

Northern Mirkwood was a mainly uninhabited region that was part of the kingdom of the Wood Elves of Mirkwood. Unlike the majority of a Mirkwood during the War of the Ring and the Return of Sauron, Northern Mirkwood remained untainted. But inevitably, as the dark power grew, the Woodland Realm and Northern Mirkwood were attacked by forces from Dol Guldur. Evil forces attempted to assault Northern Mirkwood many times, but eventually the forces of evil were driven out during the Battle under Trees in 3019.

Mobs

Vanilla animals and farm animals spawn here alongside the Woodland elk, wild boar and butterfly. Be careful at night though, since Mirkwood spiders spawn!

Vegetation

Mirk-oak, Beech, Larch, Oak, Chestnut, Spruce, Fir, and Pine trees all spawn here, along with regular vanilla vegetation.
