Opals are multi colored gemstones. They are round and are bluish in color, with streaks of pink, yellow and green.

Opal can be found in its ore form underground. It can also be acquired through trading.
As with many other materials, you can make an opal block with nine pieces of opal in a crafting table.

- Opal has a Mohs hardness of 5.5-6.
- Australia has chosen opal to be its national gemstone due to its common occurrence there.
- Opal can be a range of colors including blue, green, black, red, orange, etc. but white and green are the easiest to find.
