“ | As far as their eyes could reach, along the skirts of the Morgai and away southward, there were camps, some of tents, some ordered like small towns. | ” |
–The Return of the King, The Land of Shadow |
Orc Camps are makeshift settlements of travelling Orcs, which can be found in nearly every biome in which orcs spawn.
These remote outposts are maintained by a variety of factions, but all of them have the same generate structure. Each is based around a Table of Command, which is set in the middle of a small patch of barren terrain. Up to four tents, which can either be residential tents (made of wool) or forge tents (made of bricks), generate in a ring around the central table, and a small farm generates on the outskirts of the camp. Orc Torches are set around the camp for lighting, and camps are usually surrounded by skulls on fenceposts. Typically, a trader or a chieftain spawns in the center of the camp, alongside a number of Orcs.

Central Table[]
Orc Camps are all built around simple structures that generate at the center of a circle of barren land. These structures consist of Tables of Command surrounded by the respective brick slabs of the faction, with four Orc Torches set at the corners. This is the heart of the camp, where the camp's Orcs will spawn. Players can use the Table of Command to check on regional conquest, and they can also make use of the camp's traders or hiring chieftains, who always spawn at the table.
Tents[]
The primary structures in Orc Camps are tents, which are made of black, brown, or grey wool and charred wood fences. These tents are lit by Orc Torches, and each contains a a normal and a faction-specific crafting table. Tents also contain a chest, in which can be found ingots, armour, weapons, bones, rotten flesh, maggoty bread, coal, sticks and other items affiliated with the respective faction. Up to four may generate in a single camp.
Forge Tents[]
Sometimes one or more tents will be replaced by a forge tent, a small smithy that is made of the faction's bricks (or cobblestone, for Gundabad Forge Tents). They are similar in structure to regular tents, but instead of crafting tables and chests they each contain an Orc Forge, which can be used for alloying or for smelting large amounts of ore at once.
Farm[]
A small farm generates on the outskirts of every Orc Camp. These farms are bordered by a five-by-five-meter ring of charred fences, with a single gate and a scarecrow. A water source block generates at the center of the farm, surrounded by eight patches of farmland. In Mordor Camps, this farmland is replaced with Mordor Rock, on which Morgul-shroom are growing, while in all other camps wheat is grown in these farms.
Population[]
Orcs of various kinds spawn in and around Orc Camps, making them hotspots for evil players looking for quests or good players looking for alignment. In addition, camps typically contain an Orkish trading NPC, either a Trader or, in Gundabad and Isengard camps, a Chieftain. Both are particularly useful for evil players, who can exchange goods with the Traders and hire soldiers from the Chieftains.
