Slaves of Harad are farming NPCs found in various structures in Near Harad (Biome). They spend their days tending the farms of the Gulf and Coasts of Near Harad or standing sadly in cages if owned by the Corsairs. They are easily recognizable by the hoe they hold in one hand. Although they are technically part of the Near Harad faction, good NPC's won't attack them. Slaves are either of Gondorian, Haradric, Taurethrim, or Morwaith descent.

BehaviourEdit

Slaves of Harad are sad and pitiable people. Those that are not imprisoned in cages will plant crops, chase off rabbits, and occasionally talk. Like civilians NPCs, they will attack only if you provoke them (by attacking them or killing an ally NPC in their vicinity), fighting back with their bronze hoe.

According to their names, they will behave like civilians NPCs of four potential different factions: Gondor, Near Harad, Morwaith, or Taurethrim. For example, if you kill a corsair near to their cell and then you free them, the slaves with a Morwaith or Harad name will attack you while the slaves with Gondor or Taurethrim name leave you in peace. Furthermore, all slaves are considered by alignment mechanic as belonging to their name's faction : killing corsairs next to Gondor or Taurethrim named slaves will give you alignment with Taurethrim and Gondor, even if you are not in their areas of influence.

They will only eat dates, kebabs and bread, and only drink water.

EnslavingEdit

These slaves can be hired from Corsair slavers (found sometimes in camps and hideouts) for 60-100 (6coinX to 1coinC) (decreasing to 30-50 (3coinX to 5coinX) with increased alignment and to 15-25 (1coinX5coinI to 2coinX5coinI) if pledged), as long as the player is not an enemy of Near Harad.

Upon hiring a slave, the player gets the achievement "Corsair's Cruelty".

After buying one, the slave will follow you around (also through fast-travelling), calling you "Master" until you decide to interact with them by right-clicking. You can talk to them and dismiss them. The best use for them is to seek a suitable place to start a new farm. Rabbits will also not try to eat crops guarded by slaves.

FarmingEdit

They work similarly to other farmhands in that they will help you sow and harvest crops if you give them the seeds. For more information, please see the farmhands page.

SpeechbankEdit

These slaves are sad and gloomy, but sometimes show hope for a better future through their speech.

    • True, true, they will be revolting... I cannot close this thread or edit it or anything, but if an admin could that would be great.
    • I’d say that the whip should deal 1 or 2 damage. After all, being whipped hurts (which is why it was used as punishment). It should also m...
