In most recipes, vanilla sticks might be replaced by Mallorn sticks or Blackroot sticks.

Sticks are a vanilla item that can still used in Middle-earth.

Uses

Although common, sticks are perhaps the most useful item in Middle-earth, due to the fact that they are required in a very large number of crafting recipes, such as most weapons, gate gears and torches. Because they are so useful, some elven smiths also pay you silver coins for your hand-made sticks.

Obtaining

The easiest ways to obtain sticks is to simply craft them. This is done by putting any two wooden planks (besides mallorn) in a normal crafting grid. However they can also be gathered as drops from Ents and Huorns, as well as from several other NPCs.
