The Sword of Command is a method to control your hired units, and it allows you to control what they're going to be fighting more directly. It was introduced in Beta 16.
Use
Right-click while holding the sword and pointing at a target to send nearby hired units (within 8 blocks) to attack the target. You don't have to be within interacting range of the target, and you can use the sword even if there are hired units or allies between you and the target. However, the target must of course be within the units' attack range.
To cancel the sword's selected targets, right-click on nothing in particular (no mobs) with the sword in hand.
The sword has unlimited uses (durability), but it cannot be used to block. It provides no attack strength bonus. Player holding a Sword of Command
