The Sword of Command is a method to control your hired units, and it allows you to control what they're going to be fighting more directly. It was introduced in Beta 16.

Use

While holding the sword, point at a target up to 64 blocks away, and right-click to send all your nearby hired units within an 8-block range to attack that target. You don't have to be within interacting range of the target, and you can use the sword even if there are hired units or allies between you and the target. However, the target must be within the units' attack range, else they will not be able to pathfind to it and will simply do nothing.

To cancel the sword's selected targets, right-click on nothing in particular (no mobs) with the sword in hand.

The sword has unlimited uses (durability), but it cannot be used to block and provides no attack bonus without being enchanted.

Crafting

The Sword of Command is crafted with an iron ingot, a bronze ingot, and a stick.
