  • Hi there! I suggest to add more Ithilien plants, since the next update will be the fiefdom update. They could spawn in elsewhere in the Middle-earth. I'm not good at making textures, so some of them would be a friendly reminder.

Many great trees grew there, planted long ago, falling into untended age amid a riot of careless descendants

The Two Tower, Of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit

    • tamarisk
    • terebinth
    • olives
    • bay
    • junipers
    • myrtles
    • thyme bushes
    • sages (blue flowers, or red, or pale green)
    • marjorams
    • parsleys
    • saxifrages
    • stonecrops
    • primeroles
    • filbert-brakes
    • asphodel
    • deep green grass
    • mosses (Mordor has withered mosses)
    • rose-brambles
    • iris-swords (not only yellow iris)
    • water-lily leaves

There are two textures: Moss and purple iris-sword. I simply modified the textures from our mod. The colour of mosses will depend on the grass colour of the biome. There could be more colour for iris-swords like blue and white.

My textures are just samples, the mod could make their own if anyone doesn't like them.

That's too many flowers for one single update, but they would be overall planning features in plants. I expect two or three of them in an updates, so I made two textures as shown above.

    Lebethron caskets

Lebethron caskets are a great casket of black lebethron bound with silver. It would replace normal chests in Gondor.

By the way, I suggest mallorn boxes as well. They are little boxes of plain grey wood, unadorned save for a single silver rune upon the lid. If we could decide which rune, it would be cool, but may need more textures to make. Mallorn boxes will replace vanilla chests in Lothlórien structures.

[Updated] The Dwarven chests are "large iron-bound chests of wood". They will have a different crafting recipe and a new texture. In Moria, there were many recesses cut in the rock of the walls, and and in them were this kind of chests. I wish we could find this structure in Moria biome in future. Most chests are empty, but some of them will have some books that were written by many different hands, in runes, both of Moria and of Dale, and here and there in Elvish script. Dwarven chests will replace normal chests in Dwarven structures as well.

[Updated] Something new for lebethron caskets and mallorn boxes: They should have a slightly new feature, since they are caskets and boxes. When you break a casket or box on the ground, the context in it won't drop. The casket or box will keep the information, but you cannot open it in your inventory.

    • I assume the caskets would be made like a normal chest only using lebethron and and made at a gondorian crafting table?

    • Opps, I forgot to mention that... Wait a minute. :P

    • Let me count them for you. There are fifteen new plants.

    • ...Wow, what a coincidence. I just suggested Lebethron and Mallorn Baskets on JimMoriaty's thread...

    • Now all we need is mallorn doors.

Yes, I saw that right after I suggested this, but I suppose that they shouldn't be baskets. xD

    • Nice. We also need more evil chests, normal chests look even more out of place in an evil base then they do in a good.

    • I think caskets / baskets should be crafted like a boat, but with a stick in the middle on the top row.

I would agree baskets should be crafted like a boat, but caskets that we are talking about have covers. The wood planks of upper grid are represent the wooden cover of a casket, and the blank space in the centre is the space in a casket. You see that "Faramir opened the casket, and he held up an ancient crown" showing this kind of caskets used by Gondorians have covers and need Faramir to open it. Moreover, the ancient crown would be dusty if the casket was always open.

    • Please list for each of these flowers to which vanilla biome types you would add them. Examples: plains, forests, swamps, ...

I'm certain it will help Mevans implement them if he doesn't need to look this up himself. All flowers are added to groups of flowers, ordered by their occurence in biome types. I can provide a full list later today if you need it.

      Edit:

The full list of biome types used to allocate flowers to the biomes and biome variants in which these flowers would generate, according to the mods LOTRBiome.class file:

      • Plains
      • Forest
      • Jungle
      • Mountains
      • Taiga
      • Savanna
      • Swamp
      • Harad

The latter was obviously added by Mevans. As example: Mevans added the mods Bluebell flower to the Plains, Forest, Mountains and Taiga groups. I assume same method would hold for any new 'Common Flowertypes'. So, if you mention in which of these biome groups the flowers you propose to add would belong, that would help the coder.
