Another music pack issue (close me)

[Resolved] Hi there,

I have recently created an apparently dysfunctional music pack, and would like to know why it is failing to work. I have created a .json file, verified it with jsoneditoronline, and it is in a .zip file in the same directory as my "assets" folder. Inside the "assets" folder is a "lotrmusic" folder with all my .ogg files. All of my .ogg files work, and my volume is at 100%. I have tried restarting my computer twice, and I really have no idea why my file is not playing. It is in the "lotrmusic" folder inside my minecraft directory, so it should be playing. Is there any config option that I need to enable to play it, or should it just play automatically?

Edit: My json file has no author for some files, and an author for the rest. Would that effect anything?

Are the files in you music pack valid .ogg's? How did you convert them?

They are all OGG's, however I converted them by changing the file ending from .m4a to .ogg, which seems to register then as .ogg's. Is there more I need to do to convert them?

From my experience I think there is more that you have to do. I used an online converter, though I'm not sure what the best way to convert them is.

I went through an online file converter and converted all of my .m4a files into .ogg files. It turns out that my old ".ogg" files were not in fact actual .ogg files but renamed versions of .m4a files because they took up exactly the same amount of space as a regular .m4a file would take up. However, even when I used the correct .ogg files in a new music pack, it failed and came up with a similar error message to last time:

Create a new Music Pack with only this track: http://lotrminecraftmod.wikia.com/wiki/File:Utumno_Fire.ogg

This is definetly a valid .ogg, and it works for me. If the pack works with this file, then you had a problem with the .ogg's. If not, I advise you to reinstall Minecraft.

It worked, so I must have a problem with my .ogg files. I will simply need to resolve that issue.

I converted them with Audacity (Download ). You can also use this program to edit the tracks.

Solved my issue. About half of the .ogg files I was using were corrupted. Thanks for your help ranger!
