For Gondor! Welcome, my friends! This is the eleventh suggestion, the jewel of our kingdom, in the series about improvements to various biomes of Middle-earth. In this I shall suggest improvements to the once-great realm of Gondor, and great it shall be once more! The prior suggestions can be found here, and know this: Never again shall any Western biome be made that is uncanon to the works of Tolkien!
Biome Improvements:
The current Gondor biome is pretty good, to be honest. Maybe make Gondorian soldiers spawn less, but in larger groups?
As for the rest of the biomes currently in the game... they're all pretty good. At least, there's no contradictions I can find. Lebennin has three flowers that should be added, the golden bells of Mallos and Alfirien, and white lilies, and Lebennin Soldiers should spawn, but that's it as far as I can see. Nice job, Mevans!
However, Pipeweed should be abundant here. It was said to be very common in the books.
The Mouths of Anduin can also be improved. Gondor villages (not towns) should spawn here, as should Gondor Levies and Fisher-Folk of the Ethir.
Here, though, there are several the mod has missed out on.
-Belfalas: A new name for Dor-En-Ernil, which will become a different biome on the south side of the Hills of Tarnost.
-Hills of Tarnost: A renamed version of Dor-En-Ernil Hills. Gondorian Soldiers should spawn here as well.
-Anfalas: The long coasts of the west. Anfalas structures and NPCs spawn here, and the grass is like the Pinnath Gelin.
-Dor-En-Ernil: The correct placement of Dor-En-Ernil, from westernmost Lebennin past Linhir and down to the tip of Belfalas. Lebennin, Pelargir, Dol Amroth, and Gondor soldiers all spawn here on occasion.
-Western Gondor: The least-inhabited part of the land, a great land of scattered forests and grasslands. Villages are rare here, and towns do not spawn at all. Levies are also very rare, and soldiers nonexistant. Druedain might spawn very rarely in the woods.
-Anorien: The land to the north of the Pelennor, basically the current Gondor. Save, the structures have Anorien banners rather than Gondorian.
-Ringlo Vale: Home of the soldiers of the Ringlo, basically a slightly greener Lamedon with less boulders.
-Finally, Cair Andros should be made Gondorian Forest, as it was a wooded isle.
NPCs:
Tower Guard should no longer spawn in beacon towers, and instead be found in the Pelennor Fields and be renamed Guards of the Citadel.
Knights of Ringlo and Anfalas Soldiers are two new Gondorian units.
Some Gondorian soldiers should wear blue, black, grey, and green capes, for variation.
Fisher-folk of the Ethir are a new unit, like Gondorian levies, who spawn in Ethir Anduin. They use tridents and leather chestplates plus all gear used by the Levies.
Lebennin Guardsmen should be added, who wear Lebennin armor and gambesons. This is white and light blue armor with gold highlights.
Pelargir Marines should have feather attatchments to their helmets and wield javelins instead of tridents. They would have unlimited javelins, and be a spear-throwing unit.
Finally, Orcs should no longer spawn here. It makes no sence, since they haven't even captured Osgiliath.
Subfactions:
Ringlo Vale: A faction similar to Lamedon, and they in fact use Lamedon Hillmen. However, they also have Ringlo Guards, footmen dressed in red and blue armor and wielding swords. Their banner is red and blue with a white tree in front.
Anfalas: The furthest west faction of Gondor, these men use a blue banner with a setting sun descending into the sea, signifying their far western home. Many of them are militia, and Gondor Levies and an archer variant, Gondor Hunters, are their main force. However, the Household of Golasgil is well-armed and their armor is dark blue with gold trim.
Items:
White cakes, dried apples, and white bread are new Gondorian foodstuffs found in their homes.
Salvers, plates made of silver, should be found in the richer houses. Perhaps a gold variant could also exist.
Guards of the Citadel should wear black surcoats and capes with silver trees over black chainmail, and wear mithril helmets. They should also have Citadel Swords and Pikes, new weapons which do lots of damage. Helmets can be made to have black or white wings.
Both Gondorian and Citadel helmets should have stars upon their brows, an the Lossarnach helmets should be black.
Thank you for reading this suggestion! As always, comments, Kudos, and constructive critiscism are welcome!
