Good Morning. I have been working and thinking about this suggestion for the last day in a half. I've taken a look at other Rhun suggestions, and I have noticed, it seems like the land south of the Mountains of the Wind might be modeled after India, while north of the mountains is the Last Desert, which seems to be some representation of Central Asia (Mabye?). Farther east of the Mountains seems to be modeled after China. (In those suggestions of course). So I'm thinking, theres India, East Asia, Slavs, what am I missing. Tibet! I'm thinking to myself, why, it would be a great idea to add a "faction" to the Mountains of the Wind, and model them after Tibetan/Nepalese culture! So here comes lots of pictures and a handfull amount of text, hope you enjoy.
Firstly, one new biome would be added to the Mountains of the Wind. It would be called the High Peaks (Shown in the White), it will be generally higher than the rest of the mountains, and creates a little more of a Himalayan feel to the Mountain Chain. It would look somewhat like this, mabye less trees.
Secondly what I am proposing for this "faction" is a banner, gear, and a handfull of NPCs. This is not aimed to create a whole "new" faction, but rather an ancient and dead faction barely "alive".
This is an abodoned Belltower. They can be found at a 25% chance in the High Peaks biome.
We move on to my next suggestion, abandoned farms! These farms can be found at a 45% chance in the regular Mountains of the Wind biome. They spawn in pairs of 1-2, and include a chest on the inside that has a 60% chance of containing yak meat, cooked or raw, 20% of containing prayer flags, 15% chance of containing an idol, and a 5% chance of containing a Mustang weapon of any kind. They always spawn with a small farm behind them, wheat, and a pen for a yak.
The next building I am supposing is "The Lone Stupa" these religious shrines can be found at a 55% spawn rate in the High Peaks. Although they contain no loot, they remind you of the intense religious devotion of the Mustang people. (Notice the wool, that is suppose to represent prayer flags, which I'll get on too next.) I apoligize for the small size, but these a prayer flags. They come in 5 colors, always in this order, blue, white, red, green, and yellow. They can be connected and hanged from diagonally faced fenceposts with string.Next on the list, I am proposing a new block around the size of a flower pot, the idol! These can be found in chests, on rare occurence, and can smelted down into gold! (It's small, I'm sorry.)
Anyways, on the faction gear! (It's small again, sorry :(.
This ancient armor of Shibet can be very rarely found in Monastery Chests. It is equivalent in strength to gold trimmed dwarven armor.Anways, on to the weapons! (It's small, can any one please fix it?) To the left/bottom is the Shibetan Hand Axe! This has the same attack damage as a blue dwarven battleaxe, as well as durability. To the right is the Shibetan Battle-Axe, which has the same attack as a Dalish Battleaxe, but 5x the durability.
On to the next suggestion!
Shibetan Monk- These monks can be found rarely at Monasterys and Stupas. They don't do much, accept for giving out quests requesting LORE text books. They are passive NPCS and won't attack even if attacked.
Names: Yoman, Chendo, Migman, Dorjee, Nima, Nawang, Kalden.
Speech Bank-
Ahh, welcome traveler to the ancient realm of Shibet!
You look tired, and hungry, let me get you some tea.
Have you heard that Yumon reached Nirvana? He ascended into the Pureland!
Watch yourself young traveler, there are many demons that can lead you astray from the way.
The Ancient Realm of Shibet fell long ago, almost none remain, mabye you might lead Shibet into a new glorious age?
Shibetan Sherpa- These are trader npcs. You can find them rarely wandering the the Mountains of the Wind. They give give gold and silver for ancient armor, and weapons.
Names: Zhunun, Yan, Yin, Uchde, Pola, Utang, Tang, Echdo.
NEW FOOD ITEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To the right is raw yak meat, which can be attained from chests and killing yaks.Finnally, YAKS. Yaks are just Aurochs, but shaggier. They spawn prevalently throughout all of the Mountains of the Wind biomes, and can be ridden.
LORE OF MUSTANG
First Age: During the First Age, tribes from the are of Palisor migrated into the Sub-Hills of the Mountains of the Wind. Another group, migrated from the Uttermost East (Quenga) and settled in the Mountains and the High Peaks. These groups interbred, and developed a culture, religion, and customs.
Second Age: During the beginings of the Second Age, Mustang was a prosperous nation. They had just been united religiously under the Dalai Uma. They created many cities, and monasteries. They controlled the trade flowing through the mountains into the southern sub-continent, and grew very wealthy. During the mid of the Second Age, Mustang had grown very rich and powerful. Her neighbors began to envy her power and wealth. After 20 years of tension growing, an army of men from the sub-continent, and men from the west attacked the largest fort in the mountains, Fort Chung-li. It took 2 years before the fortress surrendered. Mustang soon collapased. It broke off into a number of smaller kingdoms, allmost all eventually dying out by the later years of Second Age due to fighting, disease, and famine. In the last years of the Second Age, there remained two kingdoms. Batli and Ladakh. They fought a massive river battle in the Mountains, and many more died from freezing than from fighting. Both nations lost so much of their army, and their kings, that they disintergrated. Most of the Mustang migrated east to Quengha or south into the sub-continent. Many of those who remained were monks and sherpas.
Third Age: By the early years of the Third Age, people were migrating back into the mountains, but only in small numbers. These people are mainly treasure hunters, looking for the lost relics of Mustang. Other seek to re-establish Mustang's glory, is it you?
I want to thank everyone who read through all this, enjoyed it or not, and give my greatest gratitude to the MOD team, and everyone on this wiki. Have a nice day! -Kingopai1
