  • Hola amigos! After finding my old Limwaith textures that I had created, I decided that it would be a good time to post a suggestion on the Limwaith and how they should be implemented according to my opinion: Of course, the Mod team probably has specific plans, but some influence never hurt, eh?

Wrap textures and 'Small' item icons will be added if they are wanted / if this recieves enough attention to be worth doing them..

Most of this is based on previous suggestions, such as the one by the wonderful Lysurus, however I can't mention them all in here.

    Crafting

    • Limwaith Armor - Crafted using any combination of furs / hides / leather. It would provide 12 protection points. The helmet is crafted using wood planks in a helmet fashion, with 1 fur on top.

    HelmetLimwaithPlume

    BodyLimwaith

    LegsLimwaithWarrior

    BootsLimwaith

    • Limwaith Mask - Mask worns by Limwaith Warriors occasionally instead of Limwaith Helmets, it is a symbol of Limwaith Tradition. It is crafted by placing 4 planks in a cross shape on a Limwaith CT.  It offers 1 less protection than the helmet

    HelmetLimwaithR2

    • Limwaith Ritual Mask - Masks worn by the Limwaith Drummers and Shamans, it is crafted by placing a Limwaith Mask and two mangrove leaves.

    HelmetLimwaithDrummer

    • Limwaith Stalker Mask- Masks worn by the Limwaith Stalkers, they are only obtainable as loot from killing a Limwaith Stalker or by completing a miniquest. When worn, it reduces your visibility to enemy NPCS slightly on land, and significantly in water

    HelmetLimwaithStalker

    • Limwaith Warmask - Crafted by crafting a Limwaith Mask with two horns and 3 of any fruit. When worn, it gives a very, very slight weakness status-effect to all surrounding hostile players / npcs in a 8 block radius. It only stacks up to 3 levels, which would be the equivalent of 1 weakness level.

    HelmetLimwaithWarrior

    • Limwaith Reed Brat - Purely decorational, crafted by placing reed in a shorter leggings pattern. It is worn by most civillian Limben

    LegsLimwaithReedLegsLimwaith

    • Limwaith Crownette - Purely decorative, it is crafted by placing 4 mangrove flowers in a helmet fashion. It is rarely worn by female Limben

    HelmetLimwaithFlower

    • Bone Necklace - Purely decorative, it gives 2 protection points for the sake of chieftains. It is occasionally worn by Limwaith Clansmen and rarely by Limwaith Warriors

    BodyLimwaithBone

    • Limwaith Spear - Crafted with two sticks and one flint, it deals 4.5 damage, and has the same durability as a stone spear.

    SpearLimwaithSpearLimwaithSmall

    • Limwaith Harpoon - A variant of the spear, wether it replaces the spear or not is up to your opinion. It has a slower draw speed, but deals more damage and travels faster through water. Shift right-clicking allows you to fish in water.

    HarpoonLimwaithHarpoonLimwaithSmall

    • Limwaith Pike - Crafted using two sticks and 2 flint, it deals 6 damage. I made two different versions, 1 based on typical pike designs in the mod and 1 based on actual Maori designs

    PikeLimwaithPikeLimwaithSmallPikeLimwaith2PikeLimwaith2Small

    • Limwaith Longaxe - A wooden weapon, crafted in a axe pattern with wooden planks on a Limwaith CT, it deals 7.5 damage, has 60% swing speed and 135% range.

    LongaxeLimwaithLongaxeLimwaithSMALL

    • Limwaith Dagger-club - Crafted by placing 2 flint in a 1 x 2 pattern, it deals 6.5 damage, has a 100% swing speed and 75% range. It also has a Jade-variant, crafted by placing 2 jade in a 1 x 2 pattern, it deals 7.5 damage, has a 100% swing speed 75% range. The Jade-variant is only wielded by Chieftains. Should be able to cut flora slightly faster, and has a 30% chance of harvesting leaves.

    DaggerLimwaithDaggerLimwaithJadebetter

    • Limwaith Bludgeon- a more traditional blunt-weapon, it is crafted in a warhammer pattern with flint. It deals 9.5 damage and has a 65% swing speed.

    ClubLimwaithUpdatedClubLimwaithSmall

    • Limwaith Sword - I have two possible textures for this, please tell me which you prefer. It would be crafted like a wooden sword on a Limwaith crafting table to have the unmodified variant (5.5 damage), but when you craft that with 4 bones, it will give you the sharpened variant (6.5 damage).

    SwordLimwaith2SwordLimwaith2SmallBaseSwordLimwaith2Jagged SwordLimwaith2Small

    SwordLimwaithSwordLimwaithSmallBaseSwordLimwaithJaggedSwordLimwaithSmall

    • Reed Snorkel - A rather 'fantasy' addition, but I thought it would be interesting. Crafted by placing 3 dried reeds in a column on a regular crafting table. Wearing it allows you to stay 2 blocks underwater until it breaks. It loses 1 durability every 20 ticks (120 durability).
    • Jade & Jade Ore - A valuable commodity, it is found rarely in the common stone boulders within the Mangroves / Islands of Far Harad and Rhun.

    BlockGem JadeJadeCrystal

    NPCs

    • Limben- Nothing much to say about them. They occasionally wear Limwaith Coats, Brats / Reed Brats and crownettes.

    • Limwaith Clansmen- Young Limben who were levied off of their familiar tribes and thrown into battle. They mostly wield the spear, pike and dagger-club. They wear little armor, occasionally bone necklaces, and never wield the mask

    • Limwaith Warriors- Limben who have trained their lives to become part of the Warrior class, they are tattoed all across their bodies and wield full Limwaith armor, occasionally wielding a mask instead of a helmet (50%) and rarely wearing bone necklaces (10%) They have 22 health for their prowess. Whenever they enter water, they wield Reed Snorkels.

    • Limwaith Stalker - Elite Limwaith warriors, they have 22 health, and turn ranger-invisible when in water. They throw spears indefinitely, but have little to no armor (save for the mask)

    • Limwaith Drummer - An alternative for a 'Limwaith Banner-bearer', they boast big drums and wield Ritual-masks. They give bonus effects to surrounding units similair to banner bearers.

    • Limwaith Chieftain - Self-explanatory. Always wears a bone-necklace.

    • Limwaith Disciple - Limben who have been under local service to a Limwaith Shaman. They wield no armor, have 25 health, and wield Limwaith Warmasks. They usually wield bludgeons and longaxes.

    • Limwaith Shaman- A trader unit for the Limben, they buy jade and sell healing herbs, remedies, etc. One can hire Limwaith Disciples from them

    • Limwaith Fisher - A trader unit for the Limwaithrim, self-explanatory

    • Limwaith Tanner - A trader unit for the Limwaithrim, self-explanatory

    Structures

    • Limwaith Hut - A clay or wood hut, hosting a Limben or two

    • Limwaith Meeting Hut - A very large hut, big enough for a small tribe to fit in. It hosts a Limwaith Chieftain and several warriors

    • Limwaith Shaman Shack - A small, distanced house, usually found alone in the Harad Mangrove, hosting a Limwaith Shaman and their servants.

    • Limwaith Appropriately Named Huts - Huts for the other two trader units

    • Limwaith Villages - Small villages with no real paths, save for some stone steps across water. At the center is usually the Meeting Hut

    Other

    Weapons

All Limwaith weaponry will, like orcish equipment, give man-flesh loot. This is based off of how the Maori would sometimes cannabalize their opponents when in dire need or to respect their enemy. Some Limwaith quest-givers will remark on this.

    Raids

The Limwaith, being Marauders, should also have occasional 'Limwaith Raids', similair to Shiriff Raids in size within the Mangrove and also in any contested zones. It would (if preferrable) have two variants: one with only regular warriors / clansmen, and the other, much larger one with drummers, disciples and all Limwaith NPCs wearing masks.

    Titles

    [Sea-druid] -  Hire a Limwaith Disciple

[Limwaith] - Get 100 Limwaith alignment.

[Limwaithrim] - Get 100 Limwaith alignment.

    [Fish-person] - Get 100 Limwaith alignment

[Watcher] - Wield a Limwaith Stalker Mask

    Achievements

    [10, 100, 1000+...] ???

I hope you enjoyed my suggestion!

    EDIT 1:

    - Changed Limwaithrim to Limwaith / Limben (High King Ithillion)

    - Added bone-necklaces

    - Added a variant for the helmet

    - Increased the duration of Snorkels (Minecraftimage113)

    - Added Man-flesh drops for Limwaith Weaponry

    - Added debatable 'Raids' functioning

    - Decreased stats on the pike / bludgeon (Xerped)

    - Changed recipe for Ritual masks (Sir Lazuli)

    - Added all of the 'small' textures

    EDIT 2:

    - Changed Oracle to Shaman

    - Changed Acolyte to Disciple

    EDIT 3:

    - Gave Harpoons fishing abilities

    - Allowed the dagger-clubs to harvest leaves.

    • Pretty dang good! My only complaint is that "Limwaith" is the name of the people, not "Limwaithrim". A good singular might be "Limben", though that also just means "Fisherman.

Honestly, "Limwaith" may not be the best name. What I can find shows that "Lim" means "clear and sparkling", while "Hal" is the actual way to say "Fish"...

    • Snorkel - I was actually going to suggest you add this when reading about the stalkers. I feel that it should have a little more than 4 seconds of durability (maybe a minute to a minute and a half), and should be used by stalkers sometimes.

More on the stalker, I think that the idea of "throws spears indefinately" never really works that well, perhaps it can stack up to 3 harpoons with twice the normal reload, and it replenishes one every minute, it would wield a dagger-club as a melee weapon (just an idea)

      Achieves:

the 10, 100, 1000 align achieves as usual. Also, perhaps achievements for using stalker-helm/snorkel combo, and for hiring units. Honestly I can't think of much other than what they would have for every fac either.

      A) will change the duration time ASAP B) the idea was that stalkers could hold their breathes limitlessly in water, so only reed pipes for the warriors, but that’s pretty good too C) basically, I meant that they would throw them slowly, but would keep firing consistently. The exact mechanics are to be figured out, I’ll add ur proposal

      D) Ofc, perhaps ‘watcher in the water’ for the stalker, seeing as it also double plays as a reference to the misties

    • I think that the base damage for the weapons should be a little lower, as they are a rather primitive culture.

They are lower than Moredain standards

    • I like it! What if the ritual mask was crafted with two mangrove leaf blocks instead of two green dye?

Much better idea! Will add all of the above suggestions (with a few edits) to the original proposal rn!

    • Added a helmet, this is very debatable, but I wanted to add one that's more akin to the actual Maori helms / Hawaiian helms, seeing as masks were alot more for tradition / display than use. Limwaith Warriors will have an equal chance for both.

Obviously, I understand that some people dislike clutter, and therefore it is up for debate w/ you guys on wether it should be implemented or not

    • I feel like you expect my notion on a helmet, being that warmasks are a cool and unique feature that would add a distinctive element to the Limwaith culture. Perhaps a bit of lore could even be derived, suggesting that the ancient Limwaith tradition of masks is the ancestor of the masks of the Taurethrim Shamans?

May I also suggest, that the names of the Oracle and Acolyte be changed to Shaman/Witch Doctor and Disciple?

    • Frankus, what's up with you & acolytes? Every other suggestion of yours has them in some way. Anyways, this is pretty good.

      Willl change asap!

Only one other suggestion of mine contained acolytes... but thank you!

    • About the mask crafted with leaf blocks, I was thinking about the idea and I realized that it wouldn’t work unless the Limwaith had some way to collect leaf blocks. So maybe one of their tools should function like shears, or otherwise it needs to be changed back to green dye.

Perhaps using the dagger-club would act as a very ineffective shears? It is machete-like, after all...

    • Achievement Ideas: Fish of the south: Trade with a Limwaith fishermen, Marauder: Equip a full set of Limwaith gear, Shaman: War a ritual mask,

Title Ideas: Cannibal: Kill something with a Limwaith weapon.

    • About the Pike designs, I really prefer the one on the right, which I think is the one based on actual Maori designs, as the one on the left looks more like traditional LotR Mod Pikes.  The one on the right looks more unique.  The Limwaith is an isolated tribe in the Mangroves of Harad, with little contact to any peoples North of the Near Harad desert.  I think it should have weapon designs based more off of the people it is based off of, not more like people in Middle Earth who they have almost no contact with.
