  • I think that hired units should be able to equip different bows as long as they are archer units. So, I say that right next to the weapons slot in the change equipment menu is a bow slot/crossbow slot where it is only there if that unit is a crossbow or bow using unit. This feature is for roleplay purposes, just like the rest of the change equipment options.

    • That would go against lore, I don't remember Dunedain wielding orc bows in the books.

    • But when did high elves wear orc armour? That’s possible :p

        Loading editor
    • No, high elves wore fall colors, blue, and silver. It just doesn't make any sense.

    • As the mod IS you can equip orc armour, say dol guldor armour, on any high elf that is hired by you.

    • You can also equip their melee weapons iirc, if it could be easily done with bows as well I believe it would have been done already. (kudos anyway, an honorguard of black uruks weilding blowguns sounds memey enough if we get this through)

    • Might as well consider my matchlock rifle suggestion, if elves can start wearing orc armor smh. If we have orc bombardiers, might as well have Gil-Galad with a flamethrower.

or dwarven blunderbusses, like, that's a fairly standard fantasy trope... definitely not lotr, but hey, good meme

    • Dwarven blunderbuss aren't such a bad idea, that could be a rare drop.

    • A gun in lotr makes no sense. It doesn't fit. At least with elves wearing orc equipment they could be wearing a disquise like frodo and sam did to get into mordor

    • It’s because the fire rate and damage of bows is fixed for each npc. So a Rivendell warrior will always fire at the rate of a Rivendell bow.

    • It should be simple to change that, just make an under layer of that type of bow which is not removeable

    • I'm still considering dwarven blunderbusses.

    • Lumorion, its not a "if" elves can wear orcish armour, they can do it atm lol

    • Okay, I don't usually hire units so I wasn't aware.

    • Of course, crossbows and bows would be distinguished between so that the armys are not broken. And I don’t know about tauredain blowgunners, crossbow? Bow? Neither? Both? I guess I’ll let mevans think of it. Of course, axemen should not have this feature because legendary blue dwarven throwing axes could do a lot of hurt. For the tauredain blowgunner I think this feature should not be enabled.

    • Without this, good has the advantage in: hired units, quests. populace, Ent Draughts, and hourns. Help balence the scales.

Maybe it could have this feature and just not let crossbows/bows in, so there could be fierce blowguns
