There has been much skepticis concerning the update to the 1.15.2 version of the mod due to the 1.9+ combat so I have come up with this simple pvp system.
The following is what I suggest:
Overcoming Shields: First keep the axe effect of the vanilla system the same by dealing a lot of durability loss to the shield and adding a cooldown before the shield can be used again. Secondly, when hiting a shield with a mace and when the mace is fully charged the player hiding behind the shield will take knockback and take a fraction of the damage. Lastly, add a weighted crossbow bolt which will be able to penentrate a shield and dealing a massive durability loss to the shield.
Melee: All weapon range would stay the same and all other weapon stats stay the same:
Ranged: Crossbows should be integrated into vanilla crossbows and add a little bit more damage to bows due to bowspam being less effective.
Utumno Mods: Flame will stay the same. To apply chill the weapon must be fully charged, except on bow.
