  • Love the job you guys do with this Mod. It greatly adds to my knowledge and appreciation of Tolkien's works, and even though it is "just a mod", and can be very glitchy, it really brings those places and races alive for me. Keep up the good work.

My suggestions are minor, and of course, low priority compared to what is already on the docket. I just wondered if they could be slipped in.

    1) Conquest in ME Classic

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I love the random biomes/maps of ME Classic. IT is too bad that conquest tables spawn in fortresses, and are basically only there for decor. Maybe for Classic, they could function differently (maybe more limited for simplicities sake) - based more on a set distance/area of effect from the table - and if a biome is not aligned with an ally, limited options could exist to invade?

    2) Portals

This one is two fold, and very much based on my unique playstyle and preferences (I recreate branches of magic/character types in White Wolf with other supplemental mods). I would like vertical portals to be an option, like the original Nether Portals. Oh, and maybe something in Creative to place a Utumno Portal. If you don't want them to be functional (like Command Tables in ME Classic), in order to encourage finding them on the official Middle Earth Map, that would be fine, I guess.

Also, since actual Wizards are walking around in Middle Earth, it seems like Middle Earth Magic should be perfectly capable of portaling in directly to all other realms (Nether, The End, etc... I also use Witchery, so Spirit and Torment Realms).

    Thanks for reading!

    • 1) I'm not sure if a lot of people play the classic version with random biomes, but for those who do, I guess why not. Problem is that the developer of the mod will probably be busy with renewed and probably is in the exact process of making things LESS RANDOM and according to the map.

      2) Again, why not. But a bit more problematic. First of all, such portals are completely off canon. It's just waay off lore. A portal to a random lava hell with pigs with golden swords or a world with purple teleporting monsters with a king purple dragon really seems.... off. But secondly, even if such dimensions existed, I'm pretty sure none of the wizards or beings with power had any abilities to simply visit another dimension with a portal. So I'd say no to this one.

    • I think thats a bit to personal for the mod team to add.

    • Thanks guys. Not to be argumentative, but I was persuaded to agree with the response from user at IP 24.228...yadda yadda, ....but then I played later, and it dawned on me that Elven/Morgul Portals and Exploding Termites are fairly off canon as well.

    • I agree with the conquest idea, but not so much the portals.

Yeah, but the entirety of Far Harad is essentially off canon in its own sense, although the mod team, in my opinion, definitely made a reasonable guess as to what may have been there. And you’re right that Elven and Morgul portals are also off-canon, but they’re just for people who spawned a Middle-earth only world and want to go to the Overworld, I suppose.

Your suggestion isn’t a bad one, but I would rather see the mod team add, say, another faction or quest mechanic or whatever, rather than a pretty random portal system or a revision of the ME classic map, which is there mainly for nostalgia’s sake, in my understanding.
