This feature is present in: Renewed, Legacy.

Treasure piles are blocks that are used for decoration and storage of gold, silver and copper. They appear to be made of many coins, and make a sound like tinkling coins when walked across. Rich players commonly use these to spruce up their builds.

In the renewed version only, treasure piles have a glittery particle effect, and can be more quickly collected with a shovel.

Availability[]

In addition to being craftable, treasure piles can be found as parts of Troll hoards alongside other chests.

Crafting[]

Treasure piles are made with four ingots of the respective metal type in a 2x2 square on a standard crafting table or your personal grid. Crafting them produces a batch of eight single layer piles.

If you break uneven piles, you'll get all kinds of different heights (1-8 layers). You can stack different piles of the same metal in a standard crafting table or your personal grid, as long as the resulting pile is not thicker than eight layers. E.g. you can't combine two 5-layer piles, but a 2-layer and a 3-layer will produce a 5-layer pile. You can also break down thicker piles into single-layer piles. In addition, it's also possible to get your ingots back, but only from an eight-layer-pile.

Behaviour[]

When placed, treasure piles take up 1/8 of a block like snow does, and can be stacked up to eight layers per block. Additionally, treasure piles are affected by gravity and will fall if the block below them is not solid. If one attempts to place a treasure pile on a slab, stair, wall or torch; the pile will break and drop itself as an item.

Video[]

This is the first ever video of treasure piles released. It demonstrates their behaviour and uses.
