The Weirwood Tree is a type of tree that spawns in the Forodwaith, it has a 1 in 10000 chance to spawn per chunk. It was added as an easter egg with Public Beta 29. These trees have trunks and boughs made of Dragonblood and foliage made of Red Mirk-Oak leaves. They are typically the same size of other huge trees (a.k.a. 'Party Trees'), with a canopy resembling that of Mirk-Oaks.
It's conception was inspired by the famous novels on 'A Song of Ice and Fire' by George R.R. Martin, also popular from the TV series 'Game of Thrones'. The trees in the stories of George R.R. Martin have very special characteristics. Those that spawn in this mod don't ... or at least, if they have them, they have not been reported yet.
Besides from being an easter egg, and providing stunning immersion and screenshots it has no purpose in the world, although these trees offer a decent source of timber for the weary travellers and explorers of the Forodwaith.
The Weirwood trees cannot be grown from saplings.
As of Update 34, the Weirwood tree is no longer made from aspen, and is now made from the dragonblood wood, as discovered by Mind of Mike in his second episode of Torment.
